Veteran Orientation

Overview

The Veteran Orientation is a SEPARATE orientation from the New Student Orientation and Convocation and is for the following student population:

Any new student utilizing any of the VA Military Education benefits, to include:

  • Chapter 33 / Post 9-11 G.I. Bill®
  • Chapter 30 / Montgomery G.I. Bill® Active Duty
  • Chapter 1606 / Montgomery G.I. Bill® Selected Reserves
  • Chapter 31 / Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Chapter 35 / Dependents Educational Assistance

During this Veteran Orientation, we will cover resources available to our veteran and dependent population located both on and off campus, along with going over how your individual educational benefits work and the processes ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµ utilize in order to make sure you are paid in a timely fashion.

Veterans Orientation – Canvas Course

The Veterans Orientation is now delivered through a self-paced Canvas Course. To access the course, you will need your ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµ ID (SFID).

Note: If you do not have your SFID or need assistance, please contact the Veterans and Military Success Services Office at veterans@sfcollege.edu or 352-395-5505 to be enrolled.

How to Access the Veterans Orientation:

  1. Please contact the Veterans and Military Success Services Office at veterans@sfcollege.edu or 352-395-5505 with your SFID. A staff member will enroll you in the course.
  2. Once enrolled, log in to Canvas using your SFID and password at
  3. Find the Veterans Orientation in your Canvas dashboard and complete the modules at your own pace to fulfill the requirement.
