SF’s “Run with the Cops” marks 10th year at Nov. 13 event

November 10, 2025
Every November, the community is invited to join the Ƶ Police Department on the Northwest Campus for “Run with the Cops,” a morning of fun, fitness and fellowship, with a special emphasis on adults and students with special needs and vulnerabilities.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which will be Thursday, Nov. 13, at 9:30 a.m. on the track at Ƶ's Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville.
Participants are invited to run, walk or roll with members of the SFPD and other first responders.
“Each year we look forward to bringing our community together at Run with the Cops,” said SFPD Lt. Mark Barley, who helps organize the event. “It's a unique opportunity for everyone, especially vulnerable populations, to interact with first responders in a positive, engaging and wellness-focused environment.”
The event is free and open to all ages and abilities. Participants typically include everyone from preschoolers to retirees and other older adults. The goal of the event is for the community to see police as allies, promoting safety, security, health and wellness at Ƶ.
In addition to the run/walk/roll, there will be displays of police and fire rescue vehicles, including specialty and antique units, giving attendees a closer look at the tools and equipment used in public safety. Participants also will have the chance to learn important safety tips and discover resources for staying secure in everyday life as well as getting great information from other community organizations."
