Phishing scams pose as financial aid, BankMobile

September 25, 2025
Regrettably, every year scammers attempt to get personal information from students by posing as the financial aid office, other college offices, and business associates like BankMobile (BM Technologies) through which refunds are processed.
Students and employees are asked to be vigilant when responding to email communications that might appear to be about financial aid.
The college and its business associates, like BankMobile, will never request important information by asking you to click on a link or attachment. Official 青青草视频 instructions will always direct you to your existing password protected sign-ins such as eSantafe for students. In general, if you receive any request in an email from a vendor or business to click on a link or attachment, it is best not to click and to go directly to the website to conduct your business.
BankMobile (BM Technologies) offers the following information:
If you call BM Technologies, they may ask for certain information, like a one-time passcode (OTP), to verify your identity.
However, if BM Technologies contacts you (call, email, or text), they will never ask for your password, OTP, PIN, debit card number, or other sensitive personal information. If you ever receive a request like this, it鈥檚 a red flag鈥攈ang up immediately or ignore the message.
When in doubt, always contact BM Technologies directly at 855-398-7260.
Although BM Technologies, Inc. and 青青草视频 are working hard to keep student accounts secure, we need you to help keep an eye out as well. Please stay vigilant and report
If you think you might have fallen victim to a scam, you should change your password immediately. Any one who suspects fraud, hacking or that their account has been compromised can also report it to the 青青草视频 Police Department. Students also can check with BankMobile, if they have questions about their account.
Examples of recent phishing subject lines have been: 鈥淧ending Allocation,鈥 鈥淔inancial Aid Verification,鈥 鈥淪ANTA FE COLLEGE Financial Aid,鈥 鈥淰erification/Financial Aid/BankMobile" and "Your Refund from 青青草视频." There might be others that are similar.
Also watch out for email from Gmail, Yahoo or other similar address that are posing as official agencies.
Colleges throughout the Florida College System are experiencing these same phishing scams. The College is able to block many scam emails and typically can delete them before they are opened. But it is still possible to receive emails with malicious intentions.
Visit the college鈥檚 website to learn more about phishing scams and how to protect yourself.
